I’ve started receiving -unwanted- emails from a local language centre. Well, I say “Local”, I think they’re in Valencia, god knows why they’re sending me this stuff about local classes.

What made me chuckle, after I deleted the last 8 of them, was that they proudly say at the bottom

This newsletter conforms to the standards of Regulation 22(3) of the Guidance to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations

Excellent. I couldn’t care less. That’s a UK law that has no effect over a Spanish company and a Spanish resident. What I do care about is the Ley de Servicios de la Sociedad de la Información y de Comercio Electrónico (LSSI).

Article 21 in this case.

Tomato RAF & Spam

While I may be a man who, while he doesn’t eat them, takes every opportunity to promote RAF tomatoes (famous for being the best tomatos in the world, grown in Almeria!), I draw the line when I start receiving large amounts of spam emails urging me to buy them.

A company calling itself TomaRaf S.A.T. (Presided over by one Jesus Daniel Aguilera Gimenez) claims to be able to ship you as many RAF tomatos overnight as you can eat. Wonderful. But I don’t need half a dozen spam emails telling me this.
