1,500 homes approved for Garrucha (plus Lidl and another shopping centre)

The Mayor of Garrucha is going out in style after he signed yesterday a license for the construction of 1,500 homes and a shopping centre in the sector 2 zone (the flat bit of land between Garrucha and the main bypass) which is to be built by a company called Hispavima. Andalucia planning to build 285,000 new council houses

Under the Junta de Andalucia’s “let’s build our way out of la crisis” plan (known officially as the Programa de Impulso a la Construcción Sostenible, “the program for the impulse of sustainable construction”) towns across Andalucia have put aside sufficient land to build a whopping 285,000 new VPO’s in the short term, and well over a million long term. Garrucha commercial centre gets back on track

The project commercial centre in Garrucha – which has the necessary permits from the Junta – has got back on track after Sevillana – Endesa, the electrical company, backed down on demands for an upfront paymet of 16 million euros. Construction of 600 VPO suspended in Turre

The construction of 600 homes (including 400 council houses, or VPOs as they’re known in Turre) that were going next to the cementery (next to Fuentemora, or Rickys Bar as you might know it) has been suspended “pending the fixing of a few small problems with the plan” according to the Junta.
