A man has shot dead his uncle near the Albox music school. It happened at 13:20 today, and witnesses say both men were armed. A shootout between the two men ocurred in Ramón y Cajal street which left one man dead on the floor. The Local Police were the first to arrive on the scene but were unable to save the life of the dead man. The nephew was arrested shortly afterwards.
A 32 year old Frenchman who shot a 68 year old Icelandic woman in Mojácar last night has been arrested. The woman was sitting in a chiringuito on Mojácar Playa when the Frenchman let off the weapon in a local he owned next door. The bullet went straight through the wall and hit the woman in the chest. Two men, 19 and 30 years old, have been arrested for the Mojacar shooting incident. The men are from Vera and Garrucha. A man who was denied entry into a disco early this morning came back later with a pellet shotgun and fired it repeatedly, lightly injuring four people. Three of the injured people were Spaniards, whilst the fourth was a local Brit, all aged between 20 and 30 years of age, with no apparent connection to the attacker. A 9 year old girl was shot in the stomach this afternoon during a “settling of debts” between her family and a rival clan that ended in a shootout. It happened in the impoverished area of El Puche, in C/ Virginia Woolf at 14:30 this afternoon. A man in Berja (the other side of Almería) has been sent down for six months (probably suspended) and fined €1023.55 for shooting a dog belonging to his neighbour.
