Capitan the donkey was a little African ass that was found, malnourished and badly treated, wandering the poorer section of Almeria city. The locals of the area, despite not being known for cooperating with the police, did call them several times to report the animal, and the fact that wandering gangs of kids kept attacking it.

A Murcian rancher is in jail after police raided his farm and discovered many malnutrition and dying animals. As part of “Operation Dieta”, a crackdown on pet abuse across the Region, police had been investigating smallholders to see if they were keeping their animals in good condition when they stumbled across the farm in Molina de Segura.
A wild boar caused panic Tuesday when it got into the middle of the seaside town of Garrucha and started wandering around. The head of the Environmental Police (Seprona) in the Malagan town of Coin has been charged with organising an illegal hunt for wild boar last January. It seems the police chief – a fanatical local hunter- offered to help organise the local hunt in which over a 120 local hunters, together with beaters, went out shooting wild boar. 7 other officers have also been charged in the case. A concerned neighbour discovered an injured puffin (Fratercula arctica) on a beach in Vera. Seprona (enviromental police) has taken care of it, and say that despite its injured eye and wing it is expected to make a full recovery.
