Podemos held its third Citizen’s Assembly, online due to the COVID19 crisis, this week. Iglesias got re-elected as leader by a whopping 92%. However, only 11% of party members bothered to vote, so maybe he isn’t as popular as he thinks he is. The PSOE elect a new leader – who happens to be the old leader….

The PSOE have held their internal elections to elect a new leader and the party has chosen… Pedro Sánchez. Again. Against the wishes of the leadership. Who was the leader of the PSOE until he was forced out last year by the party leadership, resulting in this election. Cuidadanos prepares to back PSOE’s Susana for President of Andalusia

The investiture of Susana Diaz as President of the Junta de Andalucía looks like it may happen after all, after Cuidadanos confirmed it was in advanced negotiations with the PSOE to back them. Andalusia came out of the recent election with a hung parliament, and Susana Diaz of the PSOE party continues running round all the opposition parties to see if she can put together some sort of coalition ahead of next weeks investiture. Early Andalucian election alarm bells ring
