Worth €208,000 it seems. They were taken from a company supply depot in Gador and are used to pack fruit in. Two men have now been taken into custody over the matter – one of the blokes used to work for the firm in question, whilst his mate had a huge truck. 30,000 ha of Almería covered by greenhouses

A satellite survey of the province reveals that 29,596 ha of land is now covered by greenhouses. By way of comparison, that’s about 115 square miles, the same size as the Maldives or slightly smaller than the island of Malta – or 3,4% of the province. Since the last study in 2010, it’s grown 10%.
