Whilst pottering about in the high mountains this week, I stumbled across this little fellow. ABout 12-15 cm long. I’ve never seen such a big one this side of the mountains before. Most of the big ones are over in the Cabo de Gata. I took a video of him – he was eating ants. Whilst recording, he refused to move or eat an ant. With the damp and dull day we’re having today, I though I’d cheer us all up by posting a few sunny photos of #Mojacar from last weekend!
Another lovely evening outside Turre. Still about 24 at 730 pm, and almost mid October. Not bad,v eh?
Spotted this lovely little Mochuelo (little owl) out in the fields this morning. Not a common bird in this area, although you get a lot of them up in Valencia – the climate around here isn’t supposed to be conductive to them. Later: Just noticed this jpg I uploaded is a bit blurry. Click on it to make it bigger and clearer!
As the full moon rises over magical Mojacar in the springtime… Two photos taken this evening from Turre, of all places, then I superimposed the moon onto Mojacar. Well, it was in the wrong place for the photo….
Some photos of wildflowers in Almeria I took near Turre.
Ric Polansky – one of Mojácars “characters”- is holding an exhibition of photos from the last 40 years down at the Prime Properties office in Parque Comercial, Mojacar. Story: Ric Polansky holds “40 years of Mojacar” exhibition I’ve seen his photos – amazing what this area was like over the last 40 years! Worth popping in.
