Mojácar cocks up new promenade and ends up footing most of the bill

Mojácar appears to have made a monumental cockup with the new section of their paseo marítimo (promenade) and ended up paying 80% of the bill, instead of 50% with the other 50% being covered by the government. You see, the agreement signed with the Ministerio de Medio Ambiente (Ministry of the Environment) gave an estimated cost of €1.661.770 for the works, with the townhall and the Ministry both paying 50% of the bill. Garrucha to update its paseo marítimo

Garrucha townhall has announced that it intends to repave and update the paseo marítimo after it presented a budget for 2015. The seafront promenade will have over €200,000 spent on it, mainly tarmac and repainting all the parking bays. The money is coming from the Diputación, county council. Two decisions taken today in Almeria…

Today, the Diputacion de Almeria decided to freeze all public salaries for next year and approved a “plan of austerity” for the public sector to save money in the current economic downturn.
