Amazing heart op on premature (32 weeks!) baby carried out in Barcelona

A pioneering and amazing heart op on a premature baby from Murcia has been carried out in Barcelona. Baby Sherezade was born at just 32 weeks with a malfunctioning heart valve. In short, oxygen rich blood from her lungs couldn’t reach her heart. The baby, weighing just 1,5 kilos, was not expected to survive a single day. But doctors at Murcia hospital had a plan:

Rumours abound over this weekend that Murcia region may have come to a tentative “road map” to start discussions over how to open Corvera in 2014. Sacyr, the builder of Corvera, was supposed to run Corvera airport via its company Aeromur. Leaked railways document confirms no plans for Almeria’s AVE

A leaked document from ADIF, the railways operator, that Ideal newspaper got hold of, appears to confirm that those in power have no plans whatsoever to continue with the Almeria high speed train link. “Not one cent more for the railway in the province” according to Ideal. Elderly Brit from Cantoria drives 23 KILOMETRES up the wrong way on the motorway

An elderly Brit has been arrested after a police chase 23 km the wrong way up a motorway in Murcia. The 69 year old man, resident in Cantoria, had been visiting friends in Murcia and seems to have gotten confused, getting onto the motorway in the wrong direction. Corvera airport operator says Murcia is “being laughed at” by Madrid

Corvera airport gets its airspace approved

Corvera airport in Murcia has had its airspace approved, by whichever government department permits such things. According to El Razón, this means that the airport has a circle of airspace dedicated to take off and landings, and this is the final step before something called calibration flights can begin. Almería’s Mayor warns we “can forget about the AVE” until the next decade as budget cuts bite

The Mayor of Almería, Luis Rogelio Rodríguez-Comendador, said today in a keynote speech at the influential “Foro Europeo” forum in Seville that we in Almería can “realistically” forget about getting the AVE within at least the next decade. Luis is a PP politician, the same as the national government, but he accused both the PP and the PSOE of make vague promises about the AVE with no real desire or money to complete the project.
