Fines builds worlds’ largest marble statue

Fines, a tiny marble quarrying village up in the mountains, has built the worlds largest marble statue hewed from a single block of marble. The statue, called “Liberty” (Libertad) is dedicated to all female victims of domestic violence and is dedicated to Rosa Galera, a local woman beaten to death by her husband in the village three years ago.
