Repsol’s central division expect to walk out on strike from the 24th December until the 11th January. Repsol say they don’t know how this will affect the delivery of gas bottles to clients, but warn it is extremely likely that the national distribution of commercial and domestic gas bottles will be hit. Diesel for under €1 a litre!

Diesel dropped to under €1 a litre at over 100 petrol stations across Spain yesterday, and in the province two stations are selling it for €0,99 a litre: one in Vícar and another in El Ejido. Prices have dropped to those of five years ago, as the drop in crude oil finally starts to filter through to the consumer. Most of the cheapest petrol stations are in Catalunya. Health Tax on Fuel is illegal, rules EU court – must Spain pay back 13 billion euros to us drivers?

The EU has ruled that the centimo sanitario is illegal, opening the way to a court ruling that Spain must return the almost 13 billion euros collected to drivers. Gas bombonas price to soar if government stops subsidising

The price of a bombona looks set to almost double if a government plan to stop underwriting the cost of them goes ahead. Gas Natural Fenosa, the largest bombona company in Spain, has confirmed that it expect the government to “shortly” stop subsidising the cost of bottled gas, and to stop fixing the price – meaning it will soar!

Spanish electricity a THIRD MORE than in the UK!

Yup – a recent BBC survey shows that the average kw/h in Spain is a third more than in the UK! See the full survey here So Madrid pays an average of 24.34 eurocents per kw/h and London just 17.75 for the electricity. For gas kw/h, Madrid pays 8,38 eurocents per kw/h and London just 5,75.
