More blockbusters to be filmed in province

The hit videogame “Assassin’s Creed” is to be turned into a blockbuster movie, part of which will be filmed here in the province this December. The rest of the film is being produced in Malta and London. The production company has started to prepare filming contracts and search for extras in the province. Game of thrones start setting up film set

Although filming doesn’t start until the 23rd October in the province, four massive lorries turned up yesterday from Belfast with materials to start building the filmsets. More lorries will be turning up for the rest of the week and construction starts Monday. It seems Game of Thrones European offices and warehouses are in Belfast. The filmset is in El Chorrillo de Sierra Alhamilla (Pechina), the same place they filmed Exodus two years ago.  

Fans of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones were aghast after beloved character Jon Snow, played by British actor Kit Harrington, was supposedly killed off at the end of the last series. Kit Harington, the British actor who plays Jon Snow in Games of Thrones, has been spotted in Almería city this weekend. Rumours now abound that he’s here ahead of the sixth season filming of the hit series, despite the fact that he is supposed to have been killed in the cliff hanger of a series ender in series 5. Carboneras to star in “Game of Thrones”

Carboneras will take a star part in the next season of Game of Thrones according to its mayor, who went public today with the news that HBO will be filming there in October. The beautiful area of Mesa Roldán, which has a famous watch tower, will be a backdrop for several scenes. Other sets will be setup in the Alcazaba, Tabernas, Sorbas and El Chorillo (in Sierra Alhamilla) according to the Mayor.

Game of Thrones looking for 2,400 extras in province

Game of Thrones will be filming part of season 7 here in the province, and the producers are looking for a whopping 2,400 extras. They need 1,200 people of both sexes and say applicants must be aged between 18 & 65, and be “Mediterranean tanned, dark skinned or black”. Game of Thrones producers say they’re never coming back to Spain!

The producers of “Game of Thrones”, currently filming across Andalucia, told La Vanguardia newspaper they were “disgusted” with the attitude of the Spanish authorities and that they had no intention of returning to film again in Spain. Game of Thrones to be filmed in Andalusia, maybe Almeria?

Entertainment Weekly says Game of Thrones producers are in advanced talks to film a lot of series 5 of the hit series in Andalusia. Following on from the successful Exodus filming in Almería, other big producers have “rediscovered” the south of Spain, and cheap labour is certainly available at the moment!
