Flashfloods in north of province

Heavy storms last night in the north of the province have resulted in several rivers starting to flow at this unusual time of year, and a flash flood. The river Nacimiento was full as it flowed past the villages of Abla and Fiñana this morning, after rain in the Sierra de los Filabres. Flash flood sensors to be installed across Levante

12 flash flood sensors – advanced automated met metering stations – will be installed in flash flood prone rivers across the Levante and the North of the province to give advance warning of events like the Vera Playa flood. The system is being installed and maintained by the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS), the government agency in charge of water supplies for the rio Segura water area (Murcia).
