A huge blaze in forests around Valencia have forced hundreds of people to flee their homes overnight. 300 specialists and 11 aircraft have been fighting since yesterday several large fires in the province. Somontin, lucainena and sorbas have all had fires blazing since yesterday, although the first two are now stabilised.

The Ave warehouse in los gallardos is again on fire. Great clouds of black smoke are billowing in the sky. That’s the second time this week. Somebody must have a grudge against a company. what is that company keeping in that warehouse?
A fire broke out yesterday at that big SACYR warehouse above Los Gallardos. There was a pile of rubbish and wood round the back, which caught fire, or was set alight. Kids, I suspect. Turre bomberos rushed up and put it out. The large flames were clearly visible from the motorway, and a crowd quickly gathered for the fun.
The massive fire above Almería city is out now, and has burnt some 3,500 ha of land. Scrub and pine forest have all gone up in flames. The municipalities of Enix, Alhama de Almería, Santa Fe de Mondújar, Terque & Gádor were all affected. The possible cause was a tree falling onto a power line during the high winds of last week, causing a fire which quickly spread. The blaze in the Sierra de Gádor continues tonight unabated, and high winds of up to 85 kph only served to fan the blaze. As night fell, 50 fire fighting specialists from the Army’s UME (Emergency Military Unit) arrived with heavy fire fighting trucks, to reinforce the more than 200 professional firefighters already in the area.
