Fines builds worlds’ largest marble statue

Fines, a tiny marble quarrying village up in the mountains, has built the worlds largest marble statue hewed from a single block of marble. The statue, called “Liberty” (Libertad) is dedicated to all female victims of domestic violence and is dedicated to Rosa Galera, a local woman beaten to death by her husband in the village three years ago. Albox – Fines motorway stretch to open on Monday

At long last the first bit of the E-15 to Baza motorway is to open. The stretch between Albox & Fines will be opened to the public this Monday 16th. 8km long, costing €21,6million euros, and as always the opening was delayed in order to juggle around politicians diaries – seem President-For-Life Chaves couldn’t make it any earlier.

No more night beach parties in Benidorm

As from Monday, the town hall of Benidorm has ordered that anybody found on any of the 5 main beaches between 12 midnight and 7 in the morning is to be cautioned or, if incapicitated (ie, pissed), fined up to €750.
