“Homosexuals are more important to our tourism sector than all the Chinese tourists put together”, said President Monago at the launch of the campaign today. He was at a gay pride festival called “Los Palomos”, held today in Badajoz, which is expected to bring 20,000 tourists to the city this week. Badajoz was famous for having an ancient and extremely irritable Mayor, who was always against the Los Palomos parade.
María Jesús Mejuto was the PSOE Minister for Health in the regional government of Extremadura, and also Chief of the Exam Board for medical exams until late 2011, when she was voted out.
