El Ejido chiringuito rents “abusive”

El Ejido town hall has, as so many other shortsighted town halls have, bulldozed its Chiringuitos and instead installed futuristic looking beach bars which will be rented out. However, the local chamber of commerce has complained that the terms of rental are “abusive”. 21st century chiringuitos being built in Roquetas

Mojacar is full of lovely old Chiringuitos or beach bars. Some have been in the same hands for 30 years. There used to be more, but the “authorities” don’t like them, saying that they’re untidy, ugly and within 150m of the sea. Of course they are, they’re Chiringuitos.
