Candido Trabálon, who used to be Mayor of Zurgena and is currently the councillor for public works in a coalition government is in court today on trial for permitting the construction of eight massive apartment blocks containing 202 illegal homes. Jail for ex-mayor of Zurgena in urban corruption case

The ex-mayor of Zurgena for urban planning have been sentenced to 21 months in jail each after a Judge found them guilty of allowing homes to be built in rustic areas. 24 now cautioned in Zurgena

The Guardia Civil have now cautioned 24 people in Zurgena under Operation “Costurero”, an investigation into alleged corruption and official bribery related to illegal building in the municipality. Three of them are councillors for the PSOE and PP parties, who are accused of misuse of public power (prevaricacion) having voted for these illegal builds.
