Boxer dog dies in hot car and another dog throws himself off roof to escape blistering heat

Two animals died in horrible circumstances due to the negligence of their owners in the hot weather. A police patrol spotted a dying dog in the back of a locked car yesterday and smashed the windows of the vehicle to get him out. Basque government waves “bye bye” to Fagor

Bankrupt white good maker Fagor may be about to go under for good after the Basque government said it wasn’t prepared to put any cash into the company if the main investors wouldn’t. Fagor is part of Mondragon, the vast Basque conglomerate that runs dozens of businesses in the region. Basque country approves Europe’s most stringent anti-smoking law

The Basque Country, now that most of ETA have  been arrested / grown up / shot, has turned it’s attention to weightier matters and decide to enact what must be one of Europes most stringent anti-smoking laws. Describing the ineffectual national law as useless, the regional parliament approved a vicious law yesterday that bans smoking in all public enclosed places, outdoors within areas frequented by children and in the grounds of hospitals or medical centres.
