Vitoria enacts “savage” animal protection laws

The Basque city of Vitoria has voted in “savage” animal protection laws, which the city council claims are the strongest in Spain. However, donkey races and bullfighting are still permitted. The council claims that they have no powers to control these acts, and as such they have not attempted to exceed the limits of their powers. Almería’s animal disease lab closed for safety reasons

The only animal disease lab in the province has been closed by the Inspectorate of Work after government scientists at the lab denounced the appalling safety conditions there. Bits falling off the roof, broken toilets, smashed windows, missing stairs and more, ran the complaint for the IoW. Almeria, stray cats and the petition to “stop the slaughter”…. not quite what it seems?

15 months jail for throwing a Chihuahua out of the window

A woman in Jaen has been sentenced to 15 months in jail, and fined 900€ plus vets fees for throwing a neighbours Chihuahua out of a third storey window. It seems that the dog escaped from the flat next door and entered into the womans apartment when she left the door open. Deported for killing a stallion with a pole up the whatsit in El Ejido

Moroccan man M.A. has been sentenced to three months in jail, commuted to deportation from Spain for a minimum of 10 years, for killing a stallion in El Ejido by inserting a large pole up the animals rectum. M.A. was prosecuted under animal protection laws.
