Dogs will be allowed on the beach and in the sea on Adra’s La Rana beach after the city council voted to change the regulations there. The regulations must still be changed and approved before the animals forbidden signs are taken down. Dog distemper epidemic in Adra warning

A dog distemper outbreak in Adra has been reported by the Federación Animalista de Almería. The animal charity says that a number of dogs have been affected by the “almost always lethal” influenza like disease that is spread between contaged animals by coughing. It is not transmittable to humans. It’s called “moquillo” in Spanish, due to the fact that it makes dogs noses and eyes run. Chap in Adra kills his husband

In what is believed to be the first ever case of murder between spouses in a homosexual marriage in Spain, a man from Adra was killed by his (estranged) spouse yesterday. Adra gets it’s own hymn

The town of Adra has got it’s own hymn, registered in the official registry (Registro Andaluz de Entidades Locales). Copyright reserved, only to be sung on official occasions, etc. It’s called “Canto a Adra” (Song to Adra) and was originally a poem by a fellow called José Martínez Alvarez de Sotomayor penned in 1934 for a poetry competition at the time.
