Truancy in Mojacar drops

Truancy in Mojacar has fallen to its lowest level in eight years according to the council, who don’t actually go into details of %’s.

A special task force setup has had its desired effect of identifying problem students and helping them improve their study habits.

Social services, school authorities, the local police and council representatives all sit on the body, which was pioneering in the region when it was first established.

The truancy council sits once a month to exchange information of problem students, which includes cross referencing files with social services to identify students with problems at home, and advising parents as to correct study plans.
