Albox has a new English speaking councillor for Tourism and International Relations in the person of Maura Hillen, an Irish national and former IT director, who has lived in Albox for nearly 8 years.
Mrs. Hillen is probably better known as the president of the home owner’s association, AUAN, where she leads a campaign on behalf of homeowners who purchased an illegal property in good faith.
‘This is a new challenge for me’ said Maura. ‘My immediate priority is to improve the avenues of communication between the English speaking community and the Town Hall. To this end I have set up the following lines of communication where residents can find out what is going on and get in touch with me if they need to do so’:
Email: Maura.Hillen@yahoo.com
Facebook: ‘Maura Hillen’
‘These contacts will serve until we can improve the official sites which, as I am sure you can appreciate, will take a little longer’.
‘As councillor for Tourism I will be working closely with the new councillor for Culture, Aurora Cerdan, to develop and promote various activities in Albox for the benefit of the community as a whole as well as visitors to the area’.
