A 9 year old girl was shot in the stomach this afternoon during a “settling of debts” between her family and a rival clan that ended in a shootout.
It happened in the impoverished area of El Puche, in C/ Virginia Woolf at 14:30 this afternoon.
The child was rushed to hospital by a family member in his car, where she underwent an operation and is currently stable.
Forensic police continue to examine the scene for evidence, and armed police patrols in the area have been stepped up. The brigada de seguridad cuidadana and the National Police in Almería have refused to comment on the shooting other than to say they continue to patrol the area to stop any possible revenge attacks tonight.
