Almeria is the second most expensive summer destination in Andalusia according to a new international study.
Ipsos Mori, the polling people, carried out a survey across Spain (as part of a global survey) to see how much the average holiday for a couple would cost this July / August 2015. The TripIndex Cities survey calculated the cost for three nights in a double room in a four star hotel, with three trips to local interesting places, three lunches, and three dinners at a nearby restaurant (including a taxi trip there and back).
The survey looked at some 5,000 Spanish hotels offered on TripAdvisor, backed up by blind calling a selection of them to confirm prices.
Although the average daily cost on a Spanish costa was just €89.87, Almeria cost a whopping €106.86 a night. Only Malaga is more expensive in Andalusia, and nationally, it is in the 10 ten most expensive destinations. Huelva is about the same as Almeria, but was just pipped at the post according to the index.
Worldwide, Hanoi City is the cheapest capital city break.
NB: I haven’t actually seen the index, just the press coverage. Will update later if I find it.
