Thousands upon thousands of prawns wash up after storm

The small island of Isleta del Moro off the coast of Almería woke up this morning to find one of its beaches “bright pink” after a huge school of prawns was washed up during the heavy seas last night.

David Giner of the Isleta del Moro diving school said that they were all local species of prawns and plankton. He added that this was a perfectly natural phenomenon, although unusual.

Fish experts say that the heavy seas from this weeks storms have simply washed the vast number of crustaceans onto the shore.

What the plan is now I do not know – can you imagine the smell by tomorrow???
