The results of the 2014 tourism satisfaction survey (Encuesta de Coyuntura Turística de Andalucía) are out, and Almería is said by tourists to be the safest destination in Andalusia – it gets a whopping 8.8 out of 10 on the safety index.
Tourists also like the access to medical services, rating the province a great 9.1 out of 10. (No, I don’t know exactly how these numbers are calculated).
Satisfaction with hospitality is high at 8.7, although other provinces score higher. Urban spaces is an atrocious 7.
The average tourist spends €50.6 a day in Almería, one of the lowest spending in the region – in Jaén, for example, they spend some €90.7 a day.
78.4% of tourists visit Almería for recreation, and 18.4% to visit friends or family. The rest, about 2.6%, come for business or congress.
