Almería is safest destination in Andalusia, say tourists

The results of the 2014 tourism satisfaction survey (Encuesta de Coyuntura Turística de Andalucía) are out, and Almería is said by tourists to be the safest destination in Andalusia – it gets a whopping 8.8 out of 10 on the safety index.

Tourists also like the access to medical services, rating the province a great 9.1 out of 10. (No, I don’t know exactly how these numbers are calculated).

Satisfaction with hospitality is high at 8.7, although other provinces score higher. Urban spaces is an atrocious 7.

The average tourist spends €50.6 a day in Almería, one of the lowest spending in the region – in Jaén, for example, they spend some €90.7 a day.

78.4% of tourists visit Almería for recreation, and 18.4% to visit friends or family. The rest, about 2.6%, come for business or congress.
