Nail traps found on rambling routes

Hueral Overa local cycling club Indalbike have found a number of home made nail traps hidden on local rambling routes.

The traps, large nails hammered into bits of wood before being hidden in the dust (spiky end up) seem designed to stop cyclists, but as the Guardia point out – step on one of these and you could be left too injured to walk home, miles from anywhere.

And coming down a hill on a bike at high speed and hitting one of these things could cause a very nasty accident.

Nail trap spotted in Huercal Overa

Huercal Overa townhall have ordered the locales to sweep local routes, and are working with the Guardia Civil to track the perpetrator. They haven’t said how many they’ve found, but a number have been located, so someone has been busy.

It’s supposed to be the second time in this area that such traps have been found, but this time there are a lot more.
