A few months ago, I noticed on the bill that Telefonica had upped my ADSL from 3Mbs to 10Mbs, for free.
Nice, but it wasn’t any faster. I checked with the rep, who confirmed that as the switchboards around here are slowly being upgraded, they’re giving you faster broadband for the same price, as and when it’s available. He said it would probably kick in at some point, and just to wait.
I then forgot all about it. Until Sunday, when the internet was atrocious.
So I rang 1002 and went through the automated process of repeating in a loud voice lentitud ADSL everytime the computer asked me what was wrong.
The computer at the other end ran a diagnosis and told me it wanted to update the firmware on the router. Go ahead I shrugged.
10 minutes later, when that had finished, I was up and running at 9,2 Mbs !
So there we go. If you see that they’ve updated your Mbs on the bill, but you continue to crawl along at the old speeds, ring 1002 and complain.
🙂
Just to receive a bill from Movistar would be something.
