The younger sister of King Juan Carlos, Doña Margarita, has been outed as a secret theatre goer who regularly sits in the regular seats at local theatres with her friends, before going on for girly nights of “chocolate y churros” in the centre of Madrid.
Featured above in the regular seats at Madrid’s Fuente Victoria theatre back in November, her secret was discovered after an assistant spotted her and informed the manager. Flustered, and convinced there had been a cockup at the booking box, the manager rushed to offer HRH a suitable private box, but was rebuffed. He also offered her complimentary tickets to future shows, but she “angrily” informed him that these were private visits, that she had no intention of accepting free tickets and no intention of being used to promote the shows.
It turned out that she often sends down a flunky to book some seats together under an assumed name for her and her group of friends. After the show, they all walk down to the Plaza del Sol where they have a regular table at Madrid’s famed Jamaica cafeteria for chocolate y churros.

Doña Margarita is a well known classical music lover and often attends Madrids operas with her sister-in-law, the Queen Sofia, albeit in an official capacity, and often accompanied by her husband, Dr Carlos Zurita.
Doña Margarita (1939) is the younger sister of King Juan Carlos, and is an Infanta of Spain. Her full name is Margarita María de la Victoria Esperanza Jacoba Felicidad Perpetua de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Borbón-Dos Sicilias, which is why she’s simply known as Doña Margarita by all.
