38 types of work contract will go out of the window next year and be replaced by just four types: indefinite, temporary, training and apprenticeship.
Currently, there are an amazing 42 types of work contract in Spain, which is, of course, just paper-pushing for bureaucrats.
The state will throw out all of the variations and reduce them to just the basic four types, a move which will mainly help small and medium businesses. An associated law will be published at the same time to simplify all government aid and subsidiaries to the new contract types.
The unions are dubious about the plans, but the minister of work has pointed out that this will help small business owners, reduce paperwork, and allow workers to easily compare salary bands to identify under or over paid workers.
