Mad priest bans crying at funerals, changes funeral march for carols

The priest of San Luis de Sabinillas (Málaga) has royally annoyed his parishioners by banning them from crying at funerals, and changing the sad CD for a Christmas pop carol hit.

Father Nicolás Timpu has also been commenting on the possible reasons for early deaths during the funeral mass. “Probably a sinner” he told mourners as he buried a 25 year-old man who had been run over, “best place for him”.

At the funeral of a 10 year-old boy, he is alleged to have said that the boy must have been psychic. “Why?” asked the astonished crowd. “Because I saw him eating worms in the playground just a few weeks ago, it must have been in preparation for today!” roared the merry priest.

He’s also refused to give Holy Communion to children he doesn’t like, saying that “they are sinners and are destined for the fires, so why waste time on them”.

And he’s alleged to have been asking for cash up front before carrying out any sort of religious service “as there’s a crisis on and I don’t trust anyone”. At one marriage, he refused to start the ceremony until the €50 he was due was paid up front.

“He’s always been an old school priest. Lots of fire and brimstone.  He’s always hated any noise during Mass, he’s been known to cancel it because of a crying baby” one local told Diario Sur.

Anyway, so far 1505 villagers have signed a petition asking the local Bishop to shift him.

  1. OMG, That is amazing in this day and age. He has no place in society, spouting nonsense and should not be shifted rather removed from the Church altogether and immediately. God forgive him.
