The PP has leaked a document showing that 70% of all prescription medicine ordered by the Junta de Andalucia in its last source auction is coming from labs in Asia, and what’s worse, some of these labs have been banned from selling to the USA after their FDA banned them.
The Junta now orders its prescription medicines by mass auction. It publishes, a couple of times a year, a list of the prescription medicine it expects to need, and companies bid. So, of course, the cheapest bidder wins the supply order.
The PP has pointed out that only 3% of the medicines are now made in Spain, despite quite a few Spanish firms bidding for the supply. “Not good for sick Andalucians, not good for the Spanish economy” they lamented. A further 13% come from Slovakia, of all places.
