The Minister in charge has said at least 900 homes cannot be legalised in Almeria province, insinuating that they will be demolished, during a visit to the province today.
María Jesús Serrano, IU Minister for Environment and Planning, and the person in charge of legalising these homes, says that there are some 13,000 illegal homes in the province. Of these, she expects some 900 can never be legalised, mainly because of their locations or situations.

As for the Cantoria demolitions, she said that the Junta’s responsibility was to carry out the Judicial Order that condemned the houses, and that she will continue to comply with the Law.
She added that the Junta would carry out its plans regardless, and urged all townhalls to comply with the Law and obey the Junta.

A bloody disgrace, the Spanish government better dig deep in their compensation pockets and start jailing the bastards responsible, non of this 2 years in prison so you don’t have to really go, sorry to offend you mayor of cantoria, what a complete shower of shit they are.
Come to Spain buy a house, well take all of your money then knock it down put everything back as it was and you can all go back to the UK skint.
Problem is they haven’t met people who would defend their homes with everything they have, that day will come .
At a total of four a year (Cantoria is due to lose another two this coming week), it’ll take the Junta de Andalucía 225 years to fulfill, by which time, most will have fallen down anyway.
The worse problem is that all these 13000 houses are a poor investment for the British owners, being unsalable since there’s no legal paperwork, ‘regularized’ or not.
Is the Junta de Andalucía working for the good of the Almerian economy? Certainly not.

I trust none of these 900 houses will turn out to be the ones bought ‘in good faith’ with the assistance of paid lawyers. If so it will take Denuncias all round to implicate everyone in the fraud.
It’s simply disgusting that a European country is behaving so appallingly and I truly feel sorry for anyone with the worry of losing their home. I am curious though about the fate of the many land owners who had their land seized and had to pay for implementing resources yet only received minimal compensation, if at all. Presumably many of these Homes facing demolition are built on such land?
