How many Brits live within 50 miles of Mojacar? Fewer than 7,000!

I was wondering how many Brits are actually living in this area. So I turned to the net. Here’s my unscientific study, done over a coffee and on the back of (two) envelopes. I setup a targeted advertising campaign on Facebook. I looked for people whose first language is English (UK) and live within 50 miles of Mojacar (Almeria). 10 Spanish public airports served fewer than 1,000 passengers last month…

Despite it being summer, 10 Spanish public airports served fewer than 1,000 passengers last month, according to El Economista newspaper, which asks why these expensive, loss making airports aren’t closed. Huesca-Pirineos is the worst performing airport in Spain, having lost 97,83% of its air traffic since last year. In July, it received just 9 passengers. Gib’s “artifical reef” is in waters offlimits to fishing, according to the Junta’s maps

Thought it was worthwhile reproducing this map which clearly shows the location of the new artificial reef created by the Gibs. This particular map was drawn up by ElMundo.es, one of the more right wing newspapers, but even they admit that the Junta de Andalucia official maps (the ones sent to the EU) agree that the area where the blocks were dumped are “off limits” to all fishermen.
