In order to save cash, Mojacar has ordered that every second streetlight be switched off.
Also, to stop people flocking to the townhall to complain, the council will stick a sticker on all the switched off streetlights to inform you, the citizen, that because they stole all your cash, you have to fall over in the potholes at night.
The main streets affected are Paseo Marítimo, Avenida del Mediterráneo, Avenida del Mar, Avenida de Andalucía, calle Finisterre in Marina de la Torre and from the school down to the elementary. Also, anywhere else they feel like it.
The move will be until next March.
