Cartagena – Vera toll road enters bankruptcy proceedings

The Cartagena – Vera toll road has filed a petition for bankruptcy protection in the Madrid courts, as it cannot meet debt repayments on the 550 million euro debt the holding company owes. According to the company, non payments of maintainence by the Junta and Murcia, and very low (I would say almost non-existent) traffic levels means that it hasn’t been able to keep up with the payments since September 2011. Vueling ups Almeria – Barcelona flights to daily

Vueling, currently operating a three times a week service to Barcelona, has confirmed that as from October the service will be upped to daily. Finally, some good news to offset the rest. The flights continue to be at the same time, but will be daily from Monday to Sunday, leaving Almeria at 12.25 and reaching Barcelona at 13.45. Junta refuses to pay out for agreed tourism sponsorship deals this year

The Junta de Andalucia, bankrupt in every sense except the “let’s admit it” sense, has just announced that it will welsh on all agreed tourism sponsorship deals for the second half of this year, after the credit card started to bounce. Corvera airport gets its airspace approved

Corvera airport in Murcia has had its airspace approved, by whichever government department permits such things. According to El Razón, this means that the airport has a circle of airspace dedicated to take off and landings, and this is the final step before something called calibration flights can begin.
