IVA & tax increase plans confirmed by Madrid

Luis de Guindos, the Minister for the Economy, has just confirmed that the government is planning to increase “indirect taxes” in 2013. This means another IVA increase is probably on the books, although he has refused to state exactly which taxes will be increased and when. Nespresso Naora causing confusion over capture, captas or captarás?

Nespresso, the coffee people, have sent me a pink leaflet about their latest coffee, Naora, which is a confusing hodgepodge of English and Spanish. Starts off “Naora – limited edition 2012” before going on to boast “capture el momento”. Now, English or Spanish? What does capture el momento actually mean? 5,6 million unemployed (that’s 1 in every third Andaluz)

Title says it all, really. There are now 5,6 million unemployed people in Spain, out of which 1,329,600 are Andalucian – or 33.17%.
