The following is a review submitted by Britt Arenander who is my spy on the Playa! But I fully agree with his opinions here!
As I´m not into steaks and hamburgers I had never been to Cowboy Cocina on Mojácar playa, but it so happened that I ended up there with a visiting friend and was happily surprised.
The menu is extensive and even includes a couple of vegetarian dishes, all reasonably priced. We shared a big plate of onion rings with a nice spicy sauce as a starter, and wow, they were perfectly fried, delicious!
My friend chose chili con carne as the main dish, served with a wrap, muy rico – I had a chicken burger, which turned out to be a substantial slice of grilled chicken breast, great crispy chips and a fresh salad enhanced by a nice dressing (instead of the eternal olive oil and vinegar) – excellent.
The white house wine was just fine and served in big glasses. We were sitting on the large terrace furnished with rustic tables and comfortable chairs, enjoying our meal and a friendly chat with the owner, Kenny.
So now Cowboy Cocina is definitely added to my list of favourite restaurants in the region.
I´m already looking forward to the next visit when I will try the vegetarian chili with aubergines and squash and other vegetables replacing the minced meat.
Hasta luego, Cowboy Cocina!
