The PP leader Mariano Rajoy has promised to slash the number of politicians in Congress and the Senate, and now he’s come up with some numbers – 50 seats less in both.
He added that Spain “has too many politicians” (well, duh) but since the Constitution says that Congress should have between 300 and 400 seats, that’s the lowest he can go.
Apparently, civil servants (funcionarios) can carry out the duties of these MP’s better than the MP’s.
Well, that’s coz you can’t fire funcionarios…
