I missed this when it first came out, but the national mint has put the Alcazaba of Almeria on a 5€ coin, as part of its “4 reales, capitales españolas” line of commemorative coins.
It’s a 13,5 gram silver coin, with a legal tender value of 5€, but which actually costs 30€ plus p+p. Hmm… maybe I’d buy one after a beer or two, but I’ve still got a collection of French “great monument” Napoleons which still aren’t worth their face value. Thank god the Krugerrands are doing well.
I bought £400 of sixpences in the 70’s and have just been offered 75% of their value!!!
