Alcazaba on a coin

I missed this when it first came out, but the national mint has put the Alcazaba of Almeria on a 5€ coin, as part of its “4 reales, capitales españolas” line of commemorative coins. It’s a 13,5 gram silver coin, with a legal tender value of 5€, but which actually costs 30€ plus p+p. IU warns more study needed before reclassifying Mojacars chiniguitos as “music bars”

Mojacar townhall has (very quiet) plans to reclassify many of Mojacars chiringuitos into “music bars”. Ostensibly, this is to allow these places to stay open throughout the year, put them on a proper legal footing, remove problems with Costas, etc. It’s one of these things that will likely be presented as a fait accompli at some point in the near future. El Ejido town with greatest drop in real estate prices in Andalucia

El Ejido is the town which has suffered the greatest drop in real estate prices in Andalucia, with a drop of 11,3% in 2010. The average cost per m2 is now 1,280€. Almerimar, it says here, is marked out as a coastal hamlet which also suffered the greatest drop in house prices in 2010. Roquetas hasn’t suffered quite so much, and has an average m2 price of 1,477€
