Turre is having a “food collection”, running until the 27th, in which local citizens can donate food for the hungry.
The townhall is in charge of collecting the food and sending it to the Almería food bank, which then donates the food to soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc, etc across Spain for this Christmas.
Appropriate food is anything tinned, rice, dried foodstuff, etc. A number of local organisations are helping to collect the food.
A real way to help the homeless and the hungry this Christmas without being worried about where your donation is going to. See any of the local businesses cooperating, or the townhall, on how to donate your tin.
