Almeria townhall negotiates new flight routes

The townhall of Almería has confirmed that it is in “advanced talks” with companies such as Iberia, Air Berlín or Vueling to start new routes to Almería from different major EU capitals.

María Vázquez, head of tourism there, said that she hoped these flights would be year round and bring in lots of new tourists to enjoy Almeria. More details soon.

Meanwhile, Elsur workers in El Ejido are rioting, setting afire pickets and the like, over unpaid back wages. Let’s see if the planes bring a few French in, they always enjoy a good street riot.

  1. a worrying thought that Almeria airport may close or be privatised , with privatisation will come higher fares, I would rather fly to Malaga or Murcia than pay even more to fly in to Almeria , the fares are already high but we pay it for the convenience , but would not be prepared to pay significantly more.
