New one way system in Turre

Last week, Turre townhall had their monthly meeting, only to discover (to their surprise) that neither the PP nor the IU deputies turned up (both were away). The ruling PSOE seem to have taken the opportunity to push through a number of initiatives that otherwise would have lead to controversy, including the rather stupid new one way system that workers are implementing this week. Cadima, Roman ruins in Los Gallardos and the AVE

Cadima is an ancient Roman villa site with associated buildings around it near Los Gallardos. It´s assumed that it was the base of a local farm that grew esparta, which the Romans used to make sandals out of. The stuff would have been carried down to Villaricos or nearby for shipping elsewhere for sale. It’s never been properly surveyed or excavated, and it’s all buried underneath farmland, anyway. Judge overrules demolition of Burns family home in Albox

The Burns family in Albox are celebrating after a Judge in Almería ruled that they had not been informed of the case against their home and annuled the demolition order placed upon their home in an earlier court sentence. Almeria Airport (LEI), according to recently released figures by AENA, “only” lost 9 million euros last year. It’s worth 75 million euros, but has a net debt of around (by the end of this year) 110 million euros.
