A rather long and pointless email turns up in my email today, from a group “affiliated” with the Find Madeline McCann association, calling themselves HTFM.
It’s rather long and it’s in Spanish, but it asks questions like “Were you in Praira do Luz at the time of the kidnap?” and “Were you or a relative working in the Ocean Club at the time?”. And the final one, “do you know where Maddie is?”
Sorry, but this is a complete waste of time. Why send it to me, how many millions of people did they send this spam to? The sheer amount of returns they’re going to get will make this campaign pointless, it’s just advertising. It doesn’t even tell me who’s sending the email, just says look us up on the official website under “Affiliates”.
In other news, I saw in Tele5 last night that there was an attempted kidnap of an 8 year old girl in Tarifa, by a “foriegner” in a white transit van. Strong accent, unusual belt, lots of tattoos, heavy set. Local police chief, a man built in the best Clancy Wiggum mould and sweating heavily, vowed to catch him.

·¿Trabajò en el Ocean Club? Por favor acèrquese y hàgalo saber al equipo de investigación incluso si Ud. cree que ya estàn al tanto de ello.
·¿Viò algo la noche del 3 de Mayo de 2007?
·¿Fuè vìctima de un hecho similar?
·¿Experimentò algún hecho parecido que piensa podrìa estar relacionado?
·¿Conoce de alguien que cree podrìa estar involucrado?
·¿Sabe quièn cometiò este delito?
·¿Tiene información sobre el paradero de Madeleine?
·¿Tiene fotos de las vacaciones (o de paisajes) en las que aparezcan personas que Ud. no conoce?
·Incluso si Ud. ya ha dado informaciòn a la policía, ya sea en Portugal o en algún otra parte, o a alguien que no es policía, de todas maneras le rogamos se vuelva a acercar.
